Corporate Insights’ belief is that “off-the-shelf” change management training is insufficient and often counterproductive. During times of stress and transformation, leaders need to send a strong message that says; “This change will benefit all involved” while communicating “We understand what you are going through as it relates to our company and your job.”
We partner with the executive team to increase employees’ perceptions of the change benefit, increase employees’ dissatisfaction with the old system or structure, and increase the likelihood that employees will be successful in the new process.
It is especially critical to build managers’ skills in understanding the emotional impact of change and in identifying appropriate leadership actions to address employee concerns, fears, and attitudes toward change. If these issues are not addressed, employees will resist even the most beneficial changes.
